Paris is one of the most visited capital cities around the globe. One of the key reasons is the ambience which has let the city adapt itself to its alternative name City of Love Every couple in the world desires to visit Paris walking on the streets at least once in their lifetime.
Paris is immensely conservative for its very much renowned French culture. France and its people have a very big role to play in shaping the world’s history, making itself earn a position in an image that nobody can ignore. Instead whoever heard or saw it for the first time wanted to experience and store the memories for a lifetime.
Talking about me, I have a certain kind of attraction towards Paris that makes me feel awe about their lifestyle, their way of being possessive about their culture, history and especially that essence of rich cuisine. Because when you eat and drink well you speak well.
French people are one of the sweetest people you will ever find on Earth. You can understand it as my obsession with the respect they show towards their culture, this doesn’t mean we as Indians do nothing for our culture. It’s like appreciating the way towards the other culture by the way you watch, read and observe about them.
My obsession with French culture is with one of the most exquisite French shows I ever watched in my life, ‘Emily in Paris’. Story of an American who migrates to the city of Paris for her career and falls in love with the city first and then the people. It’s on Netflix and if you are looking for something that makes you feel relatable with Gen Z then go for it.
Other than that, my second reason for being attracted is that during my masters I had a curriculum which included the subject of French which helped me to understand the people and culture more deeply and authentically. No, don’t worry I don’t speak fluent French, I’m still just naive in it.
The best thing that I have always liked about France is that the way it has created its space at the global level is so commendable. Like just think whenever someone thinks and feels about love the first thing that appears in your mind is you walking with your partner in Paris in front of the Eiffel Tower and living the most loveable moments of your life. Most of you might agree with me about this, especially the young readers who come from the Millenium era.
I don’t know if you call it a great urge or the long lost desire of speaking French in Paris though you don’t know about it at all. Doesn’t matter if it’s just a simple word like Bonjour (Hello), even a non-French speaking human tries its best to undergo basic conversation in the local language. Now you call it a love or just a fan moment it’s pretty much the same.
Yes, youngsters like me love the city of Paris for its cafes, streets, colourful culture and their perfumes. But surely the place is much more than that like you talk about fashion, history, art and world-class museums. The city is counted among the top 10 and it deserves it without a pinch of hesitation.
This blog is not a philosophy for you, it’s just a feeling of a writer trying to express the beauty of extensive French culture and Paris so that some of you consider Paris as your next travel destination.
